The Calm Before the Storm
In the wake of the Srivijaya Empire’s historic treaty with the Northern Kingdom of Ayudhaya, a new era of uneasy peace has dawned. As the empire expands its influence, a lucrative trade route to the Tang Dynasty has been established, bringing unprecedented prosperity. A wealthy trade envoy, laden with exotic spices and precious riches, sails home from Indrapura towards Java, its crew and passengers basking in the glow of a successful venture.
A Prince’s Triumphant Return
Among the passengers is a Java prince, accompanied by his entourage and a band of seasoned adventurers. Their mission to secure valuable trade agreements has been a resounding success, and they eagerly anticipate the prince’s homecoming. However, their joy is short-lived, as the seas prove to be unforgiving.
The Fierce Fury of the Gods
The waters churn with unprecedented ferocity, as if the gods themselves are displeased with the mortals’ endeavors. The ship is beset by monstrous waves, and the crew struggles to keep it afloat. As the vessel succumbs to the relentless onslaught, the drowned souls of the sea rise up, their ethereal forms twisted in torment and rage. The sailors and passengers are dragged down into the depths, their screams echoing through the darkness.
Will Our Adventurers Survive?
As the ship goes down, the fate of the prince, his entourage, and the brave adventurers hangs in the balance. Will they manage to escape the clutches of the vengeful sea gods, or will they join the ranks of the drowned souls, forever trapped in the ocean’s depths? The journey ahead will be treacherous, and only the bravest and most resourceful will survive.
